Math Work

Show the thinking, not just the answer.

Math Work gives learners room to work through problems step by step, keep their reasoning visible and use graphs or other visual tools when they help. Eddie can coach from the path the learner has actually taken.

Sometimes seeing the relationship makes it click.

Graphs and other visual tools can sit with the written work, so the learner can see a relationship while they are still reasoning through it — not only after they have an answer.

One problem at a time.

A Math Work collection can contain separate Work Pads for different questions. Each pad keeps the learner’s question, written steps, visuals and Eddie conversation together, so one problem does not disappear into the next.

Let the steps tell the story.

A final answer does not show where understanding broke down. When the learner’s steps stay visible, Eddie can respond to what they actually did — whether the setup is right, where reasoning changed, or what might be worth checking next.

Ask about the step you are on.

Eddie can help with the part of the work that is actually in front of the learner. The learner keeps the pencil.

  • check a setup
  • ask what a symbol or relationship means
  • ask what to try next
  • explain a graph
  • connect the representation to the idea

Learn the idea, then return to the problem.

If slope, a formula or a relationship still feels shaky, the learner can spend time with that idea in Math Learn and then come back to the Work Pad with more understanding. The lesson and the problem stay connected through the learner, not through an automatic hand-off.

Work through the math with the reasoning still visible.

Keep the steps, the graph and the question together — with Eddie coaching the path beside them.
